Project: <br /> Change Order No. <br /> Change Order Effective Date: <br /> Exhibit A—Description of Changed Work <br /> Item 1 <br /> Material overruns in Bid item 0012 in Schedule A, Gravel Borrow Including Haul was <br /> experienced during construction. The original contract estimated that 235,600 tons of material, <br /> at a bid price of$2,744,740,would be needed for the project. Reasons for the overrun include <br /> the fact that the specific gravity of the material used was greater than what was estimated. In <br /> addition the water content of the material increased the specific gravity of the material. <br /> This change order adds $350,000.00 to the Gravel Borrow bid item, plus $30,100.00 tax for a <br /> total increase to the contract of$380,100.00. <br /> Item 2 <br /> Material overruns in Bid item 0025 of Schedule B, Common Borrow Including Haul was <br /> experienced during construction. The original contract estimated that 323,005 tons of material, <br /> at a bid price of$936,714.50, would be needed for the project. Reasons for the overrun include <br /> addition material needed to replace material removed during clearing and grubbing, a reduced <br /> quantity of sand used on the project and the need to replace the excess quantity of garbage <br /> exposed during construction with common borrow. <br /> This change order adds $200,000.00 to the Common Borrow bid item, plus $17,200.00 tax for a <br /> total increase to the contract of$217,200.00. <br />
