• <br /> Attachment A <br /> Scope of Services: <br /> Recommend and write bid specifications for"Warranty Requirements". <br /> Actively negotiate warranties. <br /> Develop"in-house"and other necessary warranty procedures with manufactures <br /> and/or their dealers. <br /> Determine and establish vehicle/equipment warranty start dates and complete, <br /> submit, and track when necessary,all required manufacturer forms to <br /> maximize warranty period coverage. <br /> Determine vehicle/equipment warranty/start date and post in FASTER under <br /> Equipment Inventory. <br /> Keep current lists/reports of vehicles eligible for warranty repairs and/or Recalls <br /> via FASTER Screens under Deferred Maintenance,Reports and/or Search, Query, <br /> and Excel spreadsheet(s). <br /> When asked,recommend in-house versus outside vendor/dealer warranty <br /> repairs. <br /> Review work orders for eligible warranty repair reimbursements on FASTER <br /> Screens under Work Order and with shop/parts personnel directly as required. <br /> Submit warranty claims:Direct(Letter,Claim Forms)to Vendor or through <br /> "Warranty Processing Center". <br /> Track warranty claims after submission via FASTER Work Order and Warranty <br /> matrix. <br /> Record,track,return,store(6-months),and/or dispose/recycle all failed <br /> Warranty parts/components. <br /> Review all available manufacturer bulletins to find Updates and Recalls and <br /> determine/recommended repairs pertaining to our fleet tracking them in <br /> FASTER. <br /> Track Updates and Recalls in FASTER under Deferred Maintenance and Excel <br /> spreadsheets to ensure all vehicles are repaired. <br /> Follow-up on all pending reimbursements using follow-up letters,phone calls, <br /> and track these contacts as required using Outlook and Warranty Excel matrix. <br /> Ask and negotiate for"good will"or"after warranty"repairs and <br /> reimbursements. <br /> Track fleet defects(multiple problems by class of equipment). <br /> When asked,assist other departments and agencies with problems with <br /> warranty recovery. <br /> Instruct shop personnel on warranty procedures. <br /> Check on,track, and post as required all"credits": Warranty,Parts and Core <br /> returns,No cost repairs/parts,Tool warranty, Scrap metal credit,Billing <br /> adjustments,Manufacturer's Rebates,Fuel Tax savings/refund,and Accident <br /> recovery. <br /> Review manufacturer bulletins to find Recall/Equipment Warranty Actions <br /> Submit Claims(electronically and manually) <br /> Follow up on reimbursement <br /> Track lifetime warranty parts - <br /> Fleet defects,review parts usage and submit for reimbursement <br /> 6 <br /> S:1#CommonlBD\Agreement with MER Co.doc <br /> 12/3/2008 8:34 AM WED/arm 6 <br />
