New terms and conditions have been negiotiated with the ERA for a new 3 year agreement beginning <br /> January 1,2009. <br /> The agreement is structured to support the Park Department's council adopted strategic plan in the following <br /> manner: 1)ERA commits to provide stewardship hours to the parks system(250 hours for 2009, 325 hours <br /> for 2010 and 400 hours for 2011);2)ERA will begin to reimburse the city for a share of the boathouse's <br /> utility costs(10%for 2009,20%for 2010 and 30%for 2011); and 3)ERA will remit an increased percentage <br /> of recreational rowing program revenue to the Parks Department(20%for 2009,25%for 2010 and 30%for <br /> 2011). Annual boathouse utility cost is approximately$5,000 and ERA's estimated reimbursement in 2009 <br /> would be$500. In 2009 it is estimated that recreational rowing revenue will total approximately$4,000 and <br /> ERA's reimbursement would be$3,200. <br /> ERA's performance requirements,as identified in the agreement, reflects support of the department's <br /> strategic plan goal five(creating effective partnerships to build programs that maximize the community's <br /> resources)and strategy 5.1 (enter into partnerships that are equitable to all parties). <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign a professional <br /> services agreement with Everett Rowing Association for the provision of competitive and recreational <br /> rowing programs. <br /> S:VlCommon Admmistntion\COUNCIl.V.008\CS-ERA_12-31-0S.doc 1 <br /> L <br />
