The site yenerally slopes ciown �r��+n the tiouth to the <br /> north � with a to��ogra��hic�l reliet of appr-oximrjtely ten �eet. At <br /> the time of c�ur exploration, U�e �>roperty was covered with tall <br /> grasses, brush, end sii�il trees. Standiny wa'_er was prc�;ent in <br /> the northwest reyion oE tna proi7erty . <br /> Subsurface <br /> 7ne site was explor.ed ny excavating four test ,�its at the <br /> locat : ons shown on Plate 'l. Please refer to the test p:t logs, <br /> Plates 4 and 5, for a detailed description of. tne conditions <br /> encounter.ed at each location ex,�lored. A description oP the field <br /> exploration methods and laboratory testing progra!n is inclu�ied in <br /> this report Eollrn+ing the Discussion and Rec���Nne rn�ations section. <br /> The following is a generaJ.ize� descr:ption of the �uhsurf:ace <br /> conditions encni�ntere�. <br /> The yround ,urface is gf�n�r311y unaerlain t�y non-plastic, <br /> sandy si1Ls above �iensc glacially consol.id�ted soils. Shallow <br /> fill soils exist in the noc-theast region of thc sit.e . Test, Pit <br /> TP-1 encountered approximately two Eeet of fill snils undarlain by <br /> stiff , clayey silts . At a depth of appro>:im:t�ly three and <br /> one-halE feet heneath the existing ground suc-face dense, qlacially <br /> consolidated cill soils were encuuntered. Test Pits TP-2 and TY-3 <br /> encountered approximately three feet of inediwn dense sandy silts <br /> I underlain by dense, till soils. Glacially consolidated till soils <br /> were encountered to the maximum deFth explored in 1'est Yits TP-1, <br /> 1'P-Z and TP-3• Test Pit TP-4 encountered approximaCely three and <br /> one-halE Eeer. of sandy silt underlain by hard, clayey silt <br /> extending to the maximum de��ch expt.ored at this location. <br /> Grounowater <br /> The yroundwater sr.epage levels observed whil� excavating are <br /> shown on the test pit loys.
