13. Storm water treatment is required when 5,000 square (eet or more
of hydraulically connected pavement is created and/or
redeveloped by a project. Treatment of storm water runoff irom
hydraulically connc•cted pavement must occur, per City standard"
prior to discharge of the storm water from the site, or to a stream,
wetlartd, or underground infiltration system.
14. If suit, able soils exist on the site, underground infiltration systems
(e.g., in(iltration trenches) orsurface storm waterinfiltration
systems (e.g., splash blocks, pevious pavers, orsur(ace ponding
areas and/or swales) may be used to evoid creating hydraulically
connected impervious area (rom a storm water detention
standpoint. Section 3-2.2 of the City's Stonn water Management
Manual lists site and design criteria that must be met.
15. Storm water detention is required wl ien 5,000 square feet or more
of lydraulically connected impervious area is created by the
project:
a) If suitable soils exist on tlie site, underground infiltration
systems (e.g., infiltration trenches) orsurface storm water
infiltration systems (e.g., splash blocks, pervicus pavers, or
sur(ace ponding areas and/or swa/es) may be used to avoid
creating hydraulically connected irnpervious area irom a
storm water detention standpoint. Section 3-2.2 of the City's
Stonn water Management Manual lists site and design
criteria that must be met. I
b) From a storm water detention standpoint, for an impervious
area to be considered hydraulically-disconnected, storm
water runoff(rom the 100-year, 24-hour storm must be fulty
retained and/or infiltrated— without resulting ir, significant j
potential for adverse effects from the infiltrated water(such
as slope saturation ormigration to crawlspaces and/or
basements). However, if the on-site soils cannot support full
infiltration o(the 100-year, 24-Iourstorm, parfial infiltration
may still be feasible to meet allowable storm water release
requirements.
15. Sliort plats creating between .5,000 and 10,000 square feet of
hydraulically connected pavement must treat storm water runoff in
a wet vault designed in accordance with City standards. The dead
storage volume of the vaulbtank sliall be equal to the developed
runoff from the 6 month, 24-hour storm.
