M <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION adopting the Annual Transportation Improvement <br />Program (TIP) update for 2016 to 2021. <br />WHEREAS, RCW 35.77.010 requires that the legislative body of each city and town <br />shall prepare and adopt a "Comprehensive Transportation Program" for the ensuing six <br />calendar. years to serve as a guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation facility <br />construction program, and that said legislative body shall annually thereafter review, <br />amend as necessary, and readopt said Comprehensive Transportation Program; and <br />WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 35.77.010 there exists such a Comprehensive <br />Transportation Program (known as the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program or <br />TIP) for the City of Everett that identifies various types of transportation improvements <br />needed, and estimated costs; and <br />WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Everett has reviewed the work <br />accomplished under said program, determined current and future City transportation <br />needs, and based on these fundings has prepared a Six-year Transportation Improvement <br />Program for the next six years; and <br />WHEREAS, Everett's Transportation Advisory Committee and Planning Commission <br />have reviewed and recommended approval of this update; and <br />WHEREAS, the adoption of the update to the City of Everett Transportation <br />Improvement Program enables the City to apply for and receive various state and federal <br />fluids to implement the projects in the program; and <br />WHEREAS, after due notice, a hearing on the proposed program was held by the City <br />Council in accordance with RCW 35.77.010; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed program is consistent with, and implements the City of <br />Everett Comprehensive Plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Everett that the <br />2016-2021 annual update of the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program, a copy <br />of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein as if fully set forth, is <br />adopted and the City Engineer is directed to file a copy of this program with the <br />Washington State Secretary of Transportation pursuant to RCW 35.77.010 and pursue <br />funding for the projects cited in the program wherever available. <br />Councilmember Introducing Resolution <br />PASSED and APPROVED this day of June, 2015. <br />24 <br />Council President <br />
