The Everett Municipal Code requires that all property owners within 150 feet or adjacent to a p�blic �anitary sewer shall connect their private sewer system to the public sewer after being notified by the Public Works Department. Our records also �nJicate that your property is adjacent to, or is within 150 feet of an existing public sanitary sewer. i have enclosed an excerpt from our sanitary sewer chart indicating the proximity of your property to a public sanitary sewer system. Any costs to connect, including construction and monthiy sewer charges, is to be borne by the property owner. If you believe that your residence or business is currently connected to the City':. sewer main, please contact the City of Everett Public Works Department at 425-257- 8800 so we can update our records. A sewer permit and application issued by the City and signed by an inspector is one viable means of proof. Another �Iternative to prove the structure is connected to the sewer system is to allow the City of Everett to perform a dye test. A dye test requires the owner's permission and the residenYs notification to allow a city employee to enter the premises and flush dye into the toilet. In a short amount of time the colored water will appear in the sewer main if the residence is hooked up to the sewer system.
