9 <br /> g) Utilize the City's GIS services for fixed-route system analysis and transit facility <br /> improvements planning. <br /> i) Continue to develop a GIS database of bus stops, facilities, and amenities for <br /> planning purposes. <br /> ii) Create and identify mapping layers to be used in: 1)delineating bus service <br /> on existing road ways; 2) bus stops and facilities/amenities; and 3) <br /> referencing of bus routes in the City for the purpose of land use permitting, <br /> roadway impacts and other related activities. <br /> 2) Preserve existing public transportation facilities and equipment. <br /> a) Everett Transit has continued to use preventive maintenance in order to keep its <br /> equipment and facilities in optimal condition. <br /> b) Between 2009 and 2014, approximately 31 Fixed Route buses and 14 paratransit <br /> vehicles are due for replacement. <br /> c) Thirteen shelters and benches are scheduled for replacement and 10 shelters <br /> and 5 pole mounted benches called Simme-Seats are being considered for <br /> installation in 2009. <br /> 3) Integrate public transportation services into a coordinated system linked by inter- <br /> modal facilities. <br /> a) Continue development of the multi-modal transportation center, Everett Station. <br /> i) Continue staff participation as managers of the Station's operations and <br /> maintenance contract and coordinators of transit, intercity bus, and rail <br /> services. <br /> ii) Continue coordinating efforts with Sound Transit for the completion of the <br /> east and south parking lots. <br /> iii) Continue to coordinate with CT as they complete construction of SWIFT <br /> (BRT) stations along Hwy 99/Evergreen Way/Pacific Avenue corridors. <br /> iv) Complete construction of new SWIFT(BRT) northern terminal at Everett <br /> Station. <br /> 4) Public transportation providers will continue to meet ADA and state barrier-free <br /> design regulations and improve mobility for the special needs population. <br /> a) Everett Transit will continue to meet all the requirements of the ADA as it applies <br /> to fixed route and paratransit services. <br /> b) All customer materials including schedule books and information brochures can <br /> be provided in alternative formats. <br /> c) All capital facilities & telecommunication equipment also meet ADA requirements. <br /> 1 `09 8 <br />
