8 <br /> Description of Public Service Programs Recommended for <br /> Community Development Block Grant Funding in 2009 <br /> 1. Advocates for the Rights of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (ARC) <br /> Specialized Housing Program <br /> CDBG funds will be used to pay for staffing for this program. The program will provide <br /> help for people with developmental disabilities in three areas: 1) Location and retention <br /> of affordable housing; 2) Education and training and, <br /> 3) Alternative living support. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $9,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 2. Assistance League of Everett— Operation School Bell <br /> The goal of this program is to ensure that homeless children and children living in <br /> poverty have adequate school clothing and hygiene supplies. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $10,000.00 <br /> 3. Pilchuck Area Council of Camp Fire, Inc. - Camp ships <br /> The funds will provide financial assistance to low income children to attend Camp <br /> Killoqua in the summer of 2009. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $2,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 4. Catholic Community Services - Volunteer Program Services <br /> This program will reimburse the transportation costs of volunteers providing services to <br /> clients residing within the city of Everett. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $5,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $1,250.00 <br /> 5. Domestic Violence Services (formerly the Center for Battered Women) <br /> Domestic Violence Services provides counseling and shelter for victims of domestic <br /> violence. In September of 1981, the Center, then known as Stop Abuse, opened a <br /> fifteen person capacity shelter for victims and their children. City of Everett and <br /> Snohomish County CDBG funds funded this shelter. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $15,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 8 <br />
