Volunteers of America - Rental Housing Mediation Service <br /> This project provides neutral rental housing mediation to both owners and tenants of low <br /> income rental properties. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $8,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $6,243.90 <br /> 13. Housing Hope — College of Hope <br /> CDBG funds will be used for the provision of life skills and employment training for <br /> homeless and at-risk households. The College of Hope program has been developed <br /> through a four-agency partnership designed to help homeless families secure <br /> compensation in key areas essential to self-sufficiency. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $10,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $4,120.00 <br /> 14. Senior Services of Snohomish County - Housing Social Services <br /> Housing Social Services provides for a regular on-site service coordinator at federally <br /> funded, subsidized housing for senior and disabled residents. They are trained to <br /> recognize social and health needs and to help residents to obtain services quickly and <br /> effectively. This forms a link to the service network in order to prevent premature or <br /> unwarranted institutionalization. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $7,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Stimulus Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 15. Snohomish County — Senior Peer Counseling Program <br /> The Senior Peer Counseling Program uses trained and supervised senior volunteers to <br /> provide supportive counseling to other seniors facing difficult life challenges. These <br /> challenges include loss of loved ones and friends, health problems, retirement, <br /> relocation, loss of mobility, and other changes associated with aging. These issues often <br /> lead to depression, isolation and anxiety. <br /> Recommended 2009 CDBG Funding $6,000.00 <br /> 90 <br />
