March 29, 2017 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., March 29, 2017, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Tuohy presiding. Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Franklin, Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the March 22, 2017, City Council meeting were approved as printed. Council Member Stonecipher abstained from the vote. MAYOR Mayor Stephanson had no comments. COUNCIL Council Member Moore provided a liaison report on his attendance at the Northwest neighborhood meeting. He also commented on his attendance at the State of Snohomish County address held today. Council Member Roberts reported that he attended the "Beyond the Streets Addiction" forum on March 23' and thanked the Mayor and other organizers of this event. Council Member Roberts also read into the record a memo, jointly prepared with Council Member Murphy, recommending next steps for the development of a Climate Action Plan. President Tuohy stated it would be good if the recommendation went to a subcommittee for development of next steps. Council Member Roberts stated it was important to make sure Administration is involved and suggested referral to the General Government and Budget Subcommittees. He also emphasized that the City should continue to be a regional partner on this issue. Council Member Murphy stated the budget goal is to develop common sense recommendations, while being mindful of budget implications. 96
