Initialed by: <br /> 12 through Jan. 5, 2009 Department Head <br /> Winter Storm Event CAA <br /> Council President ' <br /> Location Preceding Action Attachments Department(s) Approval <br /> None Grant Agreement Legal <br /> D09-384 <br /> Amount Budgeted <br /> Expenditure Required <br /> Additional Required <br /> DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: <br /> Under the auspices of Presidential Emergency Declaration Number FEMA-1825-DR-WA, the <br /> Washington State Military Department will administer a Public Assistance Grant Program and <br /> reimburse approved eligible public assistance costs to the City of Everett as a result of the Dec. <br /> 12, 2008 through Jan. 5, 2009 Winter Storm event in Western Washington. Costs were incurred <br /> by numerous departments throughout the City. The reimbursement amount is not committed to at <br /> the time that the Grant Agreement is executed. Financial commitments will be made by <br /> amendments to the grant assistance application as project worksheets are completed by the <br /> applicant and authorized by state and federal officials. Pursuant to the State-FEMA Agreement, <br /> FEMA will reimburse seventy-five percent (75%) of the eligible costs for an approved project and <br /> one hundred percent (100%) of the eligible administrative costs; the City commits to the <br /> remaining twenty-five percent (25%) as non-federal match. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Public <br /> Assistance Grant Agreement with the Washington State Military Department and the Federal <br /> Emergency Management Agency for the Dec. 12, 2008 through Jan. 5, 2009 Winter Storm Event. <br /> 14 <br />
