'Next steps' in reducing energy <br /> consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are for the City to determine reduction targets and develop an <br /> action plan. With the availability of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funding,the City is hereby <br /> contracting with Local Governments for Sustainability or ICLEI to assist in developing its long range Climate Action <br /> Plan for reducing municipal energy consumption and GHG emissions. <br /> • Local Government Operations Protocol Compliance Analysis for the Municipal Operations portion of <br /> Everett's existing GHG Inventory <br /> • Framing the Reductions Target for Municipal Government Operations <br /> • Identification and Quantification of Implemented GHG Reduction Measures in Municipal Government <br /> Operations <br /> • Identify and Prioritize Potential Measures to Reduce Emissions in Municipal Government Operations <br /> • Draft the Municipal Climate Action Plan. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to apply for Department of Energy recovery act allocated <br /> energy efficiency and conservation block grant funding and sign a contract with Local Governments for <br /> Sustainability(ICLEI) to prepare a Climate Action Plan for Municipal Operations in the amount of$47,000. <br /> 4* <br />
