A total of $43,503.00 of the award will be used to reimburse costs of on-the-water patrols and boating education classes and $12,133.00 of the award will pay for special emphasis enforcement. There is a non- supplantation requirement and no local match is required. The Intergovernmental Agreement establishes the framework between the Commission and the EPD for accomplishing the patrols, classes, and special emphasis enforcement. The ultimate goal is to reduce injury from boating incidents and to promote a safe and enjoyable boating environment for all users. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign Intergovernmental Agreement#2009-66 between Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission and Everett Police Department for 2009 Marine Law Enforcement Grant in the amount of$55,636.00 and to execute grant award documentation.. 9
