June 24, 2015 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br />12:30 p.m., June 24, 2015, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br />Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call <br />it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Moore, <br />Gipson, Bader, and Stonecipher were present. Council Members Roberts, <br />Murphy, and Tuohy were excused. <br />Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the June 17, 2015, City Council meeting were approved as <br />printed. <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br />Moved by Council Member Gipson, seconded by Council Member <br />Stonecipher, to concur with the appointment of Devin Hackett, Jared <br />Corson, and Ryan Greely as new police officers. <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council <br />Members Roberts, Murphy, and Tuohy who were excused . <br />Motion carried. <br />The City Clerk administered the oaths of office and Mayor Stephanson <br />presented the officers with their badges. <br />Mayor Stephanson announced the passing on Saturday of Washington <br />State University President Elson Floyd and offered condolences to Dr. <br />Floyd's family. He stated a funeral will be held for Dr. Floyd in his <br />hometown in North Carolina, and a memorial is scheduled for <br />August 26, 2015, in Pullman. The Mayor remarked on all that Dr. Floyd <br />has done for this community, the State, and higher education and that <br />Administration will be preparing a resolution recognizing Dr. Floyd, which <br />will be coming forward in the next couple of weeks. <br />185 <br />
