June 24, 2015 <br />President Bader expressed concern about cuts to local neighborhood <br />Transit service. <br />Council Member Gipson expressed concern about low volume for <br />announcements on buses. Ms. Popa stated she would discuss the <br />possibility of increasing the volume with the vendor. <br />J. T. Dray, Everett, commented on Transit service changes and the role of <br />the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). <br />COUNCIL BILL NO. 1506-18 <br />FIRST READIN <br />AN ORDINANCE establishing land use regulations for recreational <br />marijuana businesses, amending Ordinance No. 1671-89, as <br />amended (EMC Title 19, Zoning), and superseding Ordinance No. <br />3407-14, as amended <br />Presented by Allan Giffen, Planning <br />A letter from the Port of Everett was entered into the record stating the <br />Port does not support the provision that would allow marijuana <br />production/processing facilities in the maritime services zone. <br />Philip Dawdy, Seattle, spoke as a representative for marijuana processor <br />applicant Mojo Rising. Mr. Dawdy spoke in favor of Planning Commission <br />recommendations. <br />Richard Ek, Everett, spoke against marijuana sales in Everett and <br />recommended the City consider adding a 1,000 foot separation between <br />churches and marijuana shops to the proposed ordinance. <br />Mark Reichlin, Everett, spoke about ongoing remediation of his Riverside <br />building for use as a Tier 1 producer/process, and he asked the Council to <br />not consider adding a 1,000 foot separation between churches and <br />marijuana facilities. <br />187 <br />
