lanes. This could occur if any of the conditions listed in item (5) above is
realized. At the minimum, this project is predicated on the completion of the HOV
lane segment referenced in (c) above. The benefits of this extension extend to
many jurisdictions north and east of Everett as well as north Everett residents.
Though RTA sponsored bus service could take advantage of its existence, the
City anticipates that this segment would be funded by the Washington State
Department of Transportation concurrent with many of the investments listed
above. Short term funding constraints may allow bridge financing to be
considered utilizing part of Everett's allocation as appropriate.
r) Funding of the HOV Direct Access ramps at Pacific Avenue complements the
extension of I-5 HOV lanes up to SR 2. Initiation of this project would not occur
until the HOV lane segment from 41st to SR 2 is under development. Funding
represents the anticipated full cost of the project.
9) That the Regional Transit Authority should work with the City of Everett in
identifying a desirable implementation schedule and financing strategy for all phase one
investments that would be identified in the final revised phase one plan.
Councilperon Introducing t Resolution
PASSED and APPROVED this 6th day of March, 1996
Council President Anderson
\ l
Coun, person Campb 1 Councilperson Gipson
41—
Councilpers9KHansen Councilperson Pope
.00,05:•••••- Zi) •
Councilperson Soine Councilperson Overstreet
9
