1 D. Actively promoted and implemented effective youth programs and activities within the community for the City's young people. E. Actively promoted and implemented effective programs and activities within the community for the senior citizens of the community. F. Assumed an active leadership role in developing and implementing programs directed to the improvement of the visual aesthetic appearance of the community at the commercial,public or residential level. G. Assumed an active leadership role in developing programs and/or facilities for collecting,promoting and retaining the many aspects of the natural or historical heritage of the community. H. Assumed an active leadership role in developing programs and facilities directed toward the improvement of community social and health needs as well as programs directed toward humanitarian purposes. WHEREAS,the Everett Historical Commission determined Carl Gipson has performed outstanding service in all the above categories during his 24+years on City Council and his lifetime of service to the Everett community and the State of Washington; and WHEREAS,the Everett Historical Commission strongly recommends City Council approve the request to rename the Everett Senior Activity Center as"The Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett;" NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED: 1. The Everett City Council concurs with the Everett Historical Commission recommendation to rename the Everett Senior Activity Center as"The Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett;"and 2. The Everett Senior Activity Center is hereby named"The Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett" in recognition of Mr. Gipson's service to the City of Everett, the Everett community and the State of Washington.
