I. 8 <br /> s%'r <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A Resolution Placing the <br /> Challacombe and Fickel Building <br /> 2727 Oakes Avenue <br /> on the <br /> Everett Register of Historic Places <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett adopted Ordinance 1355-87 (amended 1956-93) <br /> authorizing the Everett Historical Commission to consider the merits of properties for <br /> placement on the Everett Register of Historic Places and to recommend to City Council <br /> that properties be placed on the Everett Register; and <br /> WHEREAS, Andy and Kaye Hall, the owners of the Challacombe and Fickel Building at <br /> 2727 Oakes Avenue, requested the Everett Historical Commission to consider the former <br /> funeral home building for inclusion on the Everett Register of Historic Places; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Historical Commission reviewed the request at a public hearing <br /> and determined that the Challacombe and Fickel Building, built in 1923, is at least 50 <br /> years old,has integrity, and meets the following criteria for inclusion on the Everett <br /> Register: <br /> • Embodies distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period and style of <br /> construction; and <br /> e Is associated with the lives of persons significant to local history; and <br /> s Reflects special elements of the city's architectural history. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. The Everett City Council concurs with the recommendation of the Everett <br /> Historical Commission to place the Challacombe and Fickel Building on the <br /> Everett Register of Historical Places. <br /> 120 <br />
