Floyd, President of Washington State University (WSU), passed away June 20, 2015. Dr. <br />Floyd's work was vital in establishing the WSU-Everett campus after a decades -long campaign, fulfilling a <br />vision he shared with the City of Everett. <br />Dr. Floyd leaves a legacy that will touch innumerable people and affect generations of Everett citizens to <br />come. <br />This resolution urges the WSU Board of Regents to consider dedicating a `commons' area to Dr. Floyd as <br />design and development of the Everett campus progresses. <br />RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br />A resolution regarding a lasting tribute to Dr. Elson S. Floyd's vision, remarkable foresight and commitment <br />to the students, families and citizens of Everett and urging the Washington State University Board of Regents <br />to consider dedicating a university `commons' designed within the campus development to Dr. Elson S. <br />Floyd. <br />
