July 15, 2015 <br />City Attorney Iles commented on discussion about reconsideration of the <br />recreational marijuana ordinance that was passed by Council last week. <br />He stated that the issue has been reviewed by the City Attorney's office <br />and that the ordinance was signed last Friday, is now valid, and will <br />become effective 15 days following the date it was signed. Under the law, <br />once the ordinance is valid, reconsideration by Council is no longer an <br />option and future amendments must occur through the traditional process <br />of three readings. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Pastor Alan Dorway, First Presbyterian Church, Everett, spoke regarding <br />downtown parking concerns. <br />Alice Lorigan, Everett, announced that the Veterans of Foreign Wars <br />(VFW) will be hosting an open house and welcome -home ceremony <br />honoring Vietnam era veterans on Saturday, August 1, 2015, 2711 Oakes <br />Avenue, from 2-5 p.m. <br />Jamie Curtismith, Everett, spoke about the ordinance that was passed last <br />week and the implementation of cannabis legalization. <br />Jackie Minchew, Everett, commented on methane and its contribution to <br />global warming and racial issues in America today. <br />Pete McFall, Everett, spoke regarding Everett Fire Department <br />employment and medicare benefits. <br />COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br />Budget Review Number 2 <br />Presented by Susy Haugen, Finance <br />Everett Library Extension of Borrowing Privileges <br />Presented by Judy Pascale, Library Board <br />214 <br />
