July 15, 2015 <br />OATH — POLICE OFFICER <br />Moved by Council Member Murphy, seconded by Council Member <br />Tuohy, to concur with the appointment of David Sinex as a new <br />police officer. <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council <br />Member Moore who was excused. <br />Motion carried. <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office and Council <br />President Bader presented him with his badge. <br />nni 1 nii <br />Council Member Roberts commented that he and Pat McClain, <br />Administration, travelled to the University of Washington this afternoon to <br />join the Governor and others in signing the transportation bill. He thanked <br />the Mayor, Pat, and others for their hard work in getting Washington State <br />University funding in the capital budget. Council Member Roberts <br />requested a full legislative report in the near future. Debra Bryant, <br />CAO/CFO, said she would coordinate with President Bader. <br />Council Member Murphy provided a liaison report on his attendance <br />yesterday at the Snohomish Health District Board meeting. He provided a <br />handout summarizing policy options being considered relating to second- <br />hand exposure due to vaping in public places. He encouraged his <br />colleagues and the public to comment by emailing or visiting the <br />Snohomish Health District website. <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />At the request of the City Attorney, Deputy City Attorney David Hall <br />provided an update relating to Smith Avenue criminal activity and <br />announced that the City may now utilize Yakima County booking facilities. <br />213 <br />
