Where long drives <br />are lo be marked, Ihe repetitions shall altemate sides of ihe drive. <br />e Marking shall also include the addition of inetal signs stating 'NO PARKING - FIRE <br />LANE- TOW AWAY ZONE' to be installed at intervals or locations designated by the fire code <br />official. The signs shall be approximately 12 inches in width and 18 inches in height and <br />have red letters on a white background. Metal signs shall be installed on either 2-inch metal <br />pipes For private property or trealed 4-inch by 4-irici� wood posts tor public properly and shall <br />be located so lhal Ihe bottom of the sign is a minimum of 7 feet abcoe the curb. Where fire <br />lanes are adjacent to buildings or structures and when approved or direcled by lhe fire code <br />oflicial, the siyns may be placed on the fece of lhe building or structure. <br />L Where directed by the Cre code oificial, specific areas shall be designale i and those <br />areas are to be marked with diagonal striping across Ihe width of the fire lane. Diagonal <br />marking sha'I be used in conjunction wilh painted curbs and/or edge striping and shall run at <br />an angle of 30 to 60 degrees from one side to the other. These diagonal lines shall be in red <br />trafiic paint, parallel with each olher, at least G inchts in width and 24 ind�es apart.
