Fire lanes shall be marked as <br />(UIIOWS: <br />�i Curbs shall be identi(ied by red traffic paint with a G-inch wide stripe on ihe top and Iront, <br />extending Ihe lenyth of the designaled lire lane. <br />b Rolled curbs shall be identified by red iraf(ic paint with a 6-inch wide slripe on the curb, <br />exlending the lenglh of Ihe designated hre lane. <br />c Lanes wilhout curbs shall be identi(ied by red tra(fc painl with a 6-inch wide stnpe on the <br />pavement, extendiny ihe length of ihe designated fire lane. <br />d The words 'NO PARKING - FIRE LANE' shall be in 3-inch stroF.e white letters 18 inches <br />in height, and placed B inches measured perpendicular from the red paint slripe on tl��e <br />pavemenL In most cases, both sides of the access road shall be marked. Where lony <br />dnves are to be marked, ihe repelitions shall altemate sides o( ihe drive. <br />� Markmg shall also include the addition of inetal signs stating'NO PARKING - FIRE <br />LANG TOW AWAY ZONE' to be installed at inlervals or locations designated by the fire <br />r.ode ollicial The signs shall be approximalely 12 inches in width and 18 inches in <br />hcight and have red letters on a white background. Metal signs shall be installed on <br />eithcr 2-inch melal pipes (or private property or lreated 4-inch by 4-inch wood posls lor <br />public property and shall be located so ihat ihe bottom of Ihe sign is a minimum o( 7 Iee1 <br />;ibove the curb. Where fi�e lanes are adjacent to buildings or structures and when <br />,�pproved or directed by lhe fire code official, the siyns may be placed on the face of the <br />hinldmg or slruclure. <br />f Where directed by ihe fire code official, specific areas shall be designaled and those <br />.ueas ara to be marked with diayonal slriping across the widlh o( ihe fire lane.
