If the berm is ar.cessible to foot traffic, an� the pond will <br />not be fence��, L-he maximum side slope of the berm should be <br />3:1. <br />Maintenanoe A:aesa Requiremente: <br />Appropriate access must be provided to all drainage <br />facilities to allow for maintenance of these facilftiea, <br />particularly for mairtenance and renr�ir of control <br />structures and for removal of accumulated sediment from <br />surface ponds and basins. <br />An access road is required to all control atructures, <br />grit/aedim�nt removal structures or surface pond e.reae, and <br />oil/water separators not accessible from surfaces paved for <br />vehicle use. The following criteria apply for access roads: <br />1) Access roads shall be a min<_mum of 15 feet in width and <br />have a maximum gra-if: of 6H:1V. <br />2) Fence gates shal' h� provided for access roads at <br />"straight" sections of the road. <br />3) A 40 foot minimum outside radius must be provided on <br />access roads to control structures. <br />4) The surfac.ing of access roads must be an all-weather <br />s�irface of crushed rock or better. <br />5) Where possi.ble, manhole and catch basin lids to be <br />accessed sh,911 be on the right hand side of the vehicle <br />acc.essinq the structure. <br />6) Surface ponds or basins greater than 30 °ec+t wide shall <br />be designed and constructed with an access road to that <br />area of the pond or basin bottom where sed+'.ment would <br />accumulate. <br />7) Surface pond� or basins 15 f.eet wide or les�. shali bc <br />desiqned ar�� constructed with an ac�ess road along one <br />side of the pond, open water cell, or basin. <br />B) Surface ponds or hasins between 15 and 30 feet wide, <br />shall be designed and constructed with an access rcad <br />along both sides of the pon� nr basin or to the area of <br />the pond or basin bottom where sediment would <br />accumulate. <br />
