All commercially acquired
plants are to be containerized or balled and burlapped, and properly
handled. All trees are to be 4-6' high. Willows are to be planted as whips.
Subsdtution of plant species or quantities must be approved by the City of
Everett Planning Deparunent. Plants will be planted with triangular
random spacing within each area, to avoid unnatural appearances. Staking
of trees iess than 1.25 inches in caliper is required to assure survival.
Mechanical removal of undesirable and invasive species around the base of
trees may be necessary for the survival and success of planted species.
We recommend quarterly removal of such species.
MONITORING PROGRAM
The consulcing biologist will conduct a five year monitoring program of the
property in order to determine whether the project is meeting the
established performance standards, determine if the habitat values are
equivalent or greater in value to those of the lost wedand, and make
recommendadons, as app: opriate, to correct any deficiencies. The results of
monitoring will be compared with a"pristine" reference site in the region.
