Monitoring will be performed at the following times: <br />• Prior to constructlon, Baseline Snidy <br />• During and immediately following planting, <br />Construction Inspecdons & �+s-Built <br />• I.ate in the growing season the first, third and %fth years <br />following planting, Establishment Monitoring <br />Vegetation monitoring will be performed using 30' diameter sampling <br />plots, pennanendy located with 3/8" rebaz in each miagadon azea and the <br />existing wedand #2. Wlthin each sampling plot the vegetative structure <br />will be evaluated, the hydrolo��� will be measured, and the soils will be <br />evaluated for developing hydric conditions. The hydrology will be <br />monitored on a quarterly basis.APhotopoints will also be established for <br />each sampling plot. �C �� �1aqy �r����� a,,.,ysrs sF' so, I sw.+wa.�,'en <br />A�1 gbr{wca Ws1�er} <br />Small mammal live trapping will be performed in the buffers of wedand <br />#1 and #2 and the south boundary w�edand buffer of phasc II. 'fen <br />Sherman live traps will be set over two nights in each area. All wildlife <br />signs will be noted. <br />Bird observadons of wedands will be made by walking buffer perimeters <br />and wildlife corridors. T'he perimeters and cocridors will be walked at a <br />pace of 1000 feet in 15 minutes. All birds heard and seen will be tallied. <br />Insect and amphibian searches will be performed in wedand #2 and all <br />mitigation and enhancement areas. Each area will be searched for 15 <br />minutes using standard methods, i.e. looking under debri, rocks, in <br />sediments and bark, catch and release. Egg masses will be identified if <br />found. <br />Low altitude aerial photos will be taken of the site during monitoring <br />years. These will be taken from approximately an aldtude of 1500 feet <br />with a zoom lens. <br />Water quality measurements will be performed in each wedand and Sllver <br />Lake CrPek at sample locatlons identified on the Midgatlon Plan maps. <br />Parameters to be measured include: temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, <br />and settleable solids ( Lnhoff Cone).
