Aowever, moat landfills <br />deetroy the natural character of land, create unnatural heavy <br />erosion and ailting probleme and diminish thd e�isting watcr aurface. <br />c}enerally, all solid waste la a posaible �ource of much nuisance. <br />� Rapid, safe and nuiaance-free storage, collection, traneoortation <br />and diapoeal are of vital concern to all persons and communitiea. <br />' If bhe diepoeal of aolid Maebe material is not carefully planned <br />� and regulated, it can become not only a nui�ance buL a aevere <br />threat to the health and aafety of human beinga, liveatock, <br />� wildlife and other biota. <br />POLICIES <br />� l. Allow landfilla only in thoee areas designated for eueh <br />� purpoees in the Environment Section of the Maeter Program. <br />� 2. Prohibit asaitary landfilla or the location of eolid waete <br />diapoesl aitea in anq shoreline area. <br />3. Allow landfilla in xater bodiea to facilitate xater-dependent <br />uaes or to enhance public acceae �o the shoreline. <br />REOULATIONS <br />f3aneral <br />1.
