In the mecting of 1/22/97, you offered to sell us your property and hoiie. We are ot in a
position to accept that offer at this time. We will inform the State Di pertm,.t of
Transportation of your ot%r, as they may bc looking for locations for a stortnwater
detention facility for the Highway 527 widening. If you feel that your roperty is unlivablc
and selling the property is your only option, and that actions of the Conty, the Ciry of
Everett, or the State caused your problem, the process for being recompensed is started by
ilinE Claims for Dan.ages with the jurisdictions involved. We previously sent you coFies
of claim forms; please call me if you need fresh copies.
Again, we recognize that you are in a frustrating position, but our limitc+ funding allows
us to design and construct only a few of our many high-priority projects yearly. We will,
however, add this problem to our Six-Year Capital Improvement Program for annual
reprioritization. As we have insutiicient }'unding at this time to address the larger Silver
Lake-Rugg's Lake flooding problems, I believe that your best solution would be to work
with the State Department of Transportation tu resolve your flooding issue during the
road widening project.
