conditions. This will include an evaluation of the effects of weather and/or
construction equipment on site soils.
• Pond Construction — Recommendations for earthwork and the design associated
with the detention ponds. This will include recommendations for a pond liner and
accommodations for groundwater, if necessary.
• Trenching — Conclusions and recommendations for conventional trenching
techniques including the following:
A. Geotechnical parameters for trench shoring design including lateral
pressures, and partial shoring considerations;
B. Excavation and temporary slope considerations;
C. Pipe support including bedding and backfilling; and
D. Construction dewatering considerations including depth to groundwater
encountered during drilling and estimated permeability coefficients based
on laboratory sieve analyses.
E. Subgrade conditions that might necessitate overexcavation and placement
of foundation material and geotextiles prior to street restoration.
• Erosion Control — Provide recommendations for erosion control during
construction.
• Documentation — Prepare a written report presenting conclusions and
recommendations along with supporting boring logs, laboratory data, and other
appropriate figures. Present draft report for consultant team and City review and
comment.
Assumptions:
1. City to provide right-of-way use permit and City owned facility locates for
exploration program. One -call utility locator will be contacted for all other
utilities.
2. City to review proposed boring locations and exploration plan.
3. City to provide available existing geoteclu-iical investigations from the project
vicinity.
Deliverable:
1. Two bound copies and one PDF file of the draft and fugal Geotechnical Report.
Task 5 — Hydraulic Modeling
This task will provide hydraulic modeling for design of the proposed separate stormwater
drainage network, demonstrate elimination of surcharging in the existing sewer collection
system and to furnish flow information needed to design the Stormwater detention pond
system. Anticipated elements of this task will include:
5. 1 Data Req 11€est au, d Ira orinc aion Gatherin a Work under this subtask includes
gathering and reviewing all relevant data to this task.
