PUBLIC WORKS <br />April 13, 2001 <br />Harprcgt Sandhu <br />231 74'n Street SE <br />Everett, WA 98203 <br />RE: Owner: <br />Job Address: <br />Plan Check No. <br />Dear Mr. Sandhu: <br />Sandhu <br />231 74'h Street SE <br />C0103.018 <br />In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you arc <br />advised that the issuance of a permit is being withheld for the reasons listed below. These comments <br />address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments <br />(such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as <br />amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1997 Edition, unless <br />stated otherwise. <br />In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the <br />Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the corrections requested. <br />Show how existing roof rafters over existing bathroom and new pantry are supported. <br />2. Show how the new framed walls. )wn in Section "C" on Sheet A4 are supported. These walls <br />carry the roof and ceiling. <br />3. Provide calculations for lateral analysis prepared by a licensed Washington State Structural <br />Engineer (2 sets). Calculations shall be wet stamped. <br />4. Provide 1-3/8" solid core wood door with self closer between garage and house. <br />5. Provide 5/8" type `X' GWB on walls and ceiling of garage. All walls separating living space <br />from the garage and all wall beams and posts supporting living space shall be protected with <br />5/8" type 'X' GWB. <br />6. Provide calculations for gravity loads at triple 2x10 beams in garage, cantilevered roof rafters <br />at entry and 6x 10 beam over the rec room. <br />7. Provide tempered safety glass in required hazardous locations as defined in Section 2406 UBC. <br />8. The maximum rise on a stair is 8", the minimum run is 9". It appears that the existing stairs to <br />the basement do not comply with the current code for rise and run; therefore, you need to put a <br />landing between the new stairs and the existing stairs. <br />9.
