G. MASONRY: (No special inspection) <br />1. Hollow masonry units, f1m = 1350 psi. <br />Mortar type S. 1 PC - P2 lime putty - 3y sand (UBC 24i;; <br />Grout 2,000 psi peagravel concrete (7 Fack). <br />2. Reinforcing steel ASTM A-615, grade 40. <br />3• Place grouts in lifts no higher than 4'-0". <br />4. Wall reinforcing: <br />6" wall: #4 vert. @ 48" o.c. bond beams with 2 #4 @ 48" o.c. <br />8" wall: #5 vert. @.48" o.c., bond beams with 2 #5 @ 48" o.c. <br />Install two bars in corners, wall intersections, wall endings <br />and around openings. Lap vertical steel 18 inches. <br />Use corner bars for outer bars in bond beams. <br />5. Lintels for clear openings ,) to 7' - 0" to be 16" deep with <br />two #5 bars in bottom, extending 24" beyond opening. <br />6. Embed all anchor bolts, anchors, etc., in solid grout for <br />full length and depth. <br />7. Dowel all vert. wall steel to foundation. Min. Lap 16 inch. <br />8. Dowel new walls to concrete or existing walls at 16 inch <br />intervals with 5/8-inch dia. x 1'-6" long plain dowels or <br />anchors in dovetail slot. <br />9. Anchor brick veneer to wood framed wads with 22 ga. x <br />7/8 x 7 raly. corrugated wall ties @ 16" o.c. each way <br />with (1) Simpson N20A nail. <br />10. Install vertical crack control Pints at 40'-0" o.c. max with <br />"Dur-O-Wall Rapid Control Joint in standard sash block. <br />Discontinue joint r/f at control joint. Continue upper bond <br />beam and r/f across control joint. <br />11. Steel lintels to have min. bearing length cf 8 inches. <br />Drill two holes in flanges to let jamb r/f nass through. <br />Weld dowels to top of lintel to match vertical wall r/f. <br />- 4 - <br />
