ELECTRICAL PLAN REVIEJV <br />Please verify the following requirements are provided: (7) The licensee shall provide one or <br />more nonpay telephones: (a) In each building located for ready access by staff; and on the <br />premises for reasonable access and privacy by residents. (2) By January 1, 1995, a <br />licensee with a boarding home exceeding four thousand square feet total floor area, more <br />than one building, or more than one floor shall have a means for staff and residents to <br />communicate by voice or call system, which may be wired or wireless, from all common <br />areas and corridors to on-duty stafi in an emergency. (3) The licensee shall have a <br />mechanism in the room o}, and easily accessible to, each resident whose medical or <br />physical condition does not enable the resident to otherwise summon steH for assistance. <br />WAC 246-316-080 <br />2. Please veriiy the resident rooms have (h) One or more duplex electrical outlets per bed if <br />the boardinfi home was initially licensed after July 1, 1983; and (i) A light control switch <br />located by tl�e entrance for a light fixture in the room. WAC 246-318-150 <br />3. Please verify emergency power is not required by any of the following conditions: Only <br />when the resident resides in lockable quarters with a private toilet, handwashing sink, <br />bathing fixture, refrigerator, and emergency power ii necessary for life-support equipment, <br />shall the licensee allow thc, following nursing services on-site: (a) Respiratory ventilation; (b) <br />Intravenous procedures; Suctioning; (d) Feeding tube fnsertion or site maintenance; and (e) Care of <br />residents who are bed-bound for more than fourteen wnsecutive days as a result of a medical <br />condition. WAC 246-316-268 <br />4. Please verify the light fixtures and lighting necessary for the comfort and safety of residents, <br />with minimum intensities of: (1) Five foot-candles o( light measured thirty inches from the <br />floor in all areas; (2) Thirty foot-candles of light measured at reading, work, and recreation <br />surfaces in any room or area used by residents for reading, worfc, or recreation; and (3) Ten <br />foot-candles of lighf ineasurad thirty inches from the Floor in toilet rooms and bathrooms. <br />WAC 248-316-120 <br />5.
