The scope of our
sludy included Cest pits, laboraCory lests, getiCechni.cal
enyineertnq analyses and the preparaCion oC this report.
Our study indicatr_s that the easC site is underlain by
glacially.consolidalQd till at relaCively shalluw deoths wilh
some loose, Wet Eills overlying par.s oE the souChwest corner of
Che siCe. The western site is also underlain by den:;e till
soils at rela.ively shallow dapChs. Loose wet fills ,ere also
encountered ln lhe northwest and southwesl: parts oE this site
and, uner the Eill in'the southwest corner, therc is about Cour
(4) feet of organic silt and peat. 1'he swamp aeea is also
immedialely underlain by up Co aC least Eourteen and one-lialf.
(14-1/2) feet of soft or loose maCerial. The proposed tilt-up
warehouse strucCures may be ,uporl:ed on cenvenCional spread
Lootings and slabs-on-grade beacing on ciCher the dence nati•e
till soils or strucLural [ill. Tle most critical point from a
geotechnical aspect will be Che placement oE.a high fill on the
western bog area. Ttiu soEl soils will liave to be ramoved and
tle Eill placed on Eirm ground. Grounclwater control wlll also
be required during construcCion and on a permanent basts.
7'he Collowing ections describe Che sCudy and explain our
recommendations in gre,^ter deCnil.
1C05 19GIh f'I,icc 1,^.•'' I01, Ocllcvuc,W:shinglrn D0005/Or.Ilevuc12QG1G43-3700/Seallle(?O1A64-15q4
i
r
