Improvement <br />suBircr Z hop mechanical units and openings in existing concrete wall panels <br />DATE 4/21/03 <br />Based on information received 4/10 via e-mail from Dave McCarty and via fax tram Keen Engineering, it is our <br />understanding that there will be a new dry cooler, CU-1, and a new cooling unit, RTU-1, installed on the existing <br />root as shown on sheet M-1 dated 4/2/03. We have reviewed the existing roof framing in 'here areas and <br />determined that it is occeptable to support these new urits. A minimum curb consisting of 4x6's on edge around <br />the perimeter shall be constructed under each unit to he.1 distribute the loads to the existing roof framr,g. All <br />attachments and waterproofing shall be specified by others. <br />Information received 4111 via e-mail from Dave McCarty indicates that two new openings in the existing concrete <br />wall panels are proposed for the following locations: <br />16" x 12' opening in the East elevation <br />• 24' . 12' opening In the West slevotion <br />MKA has reviewed the existing structural drawings for these well panels and determined that - is acceptable to <br />make these new openings prnvided the followings criteria are met. <br />Openings shall be made by sow -cutting <br />Saw -cutting shall no: extend beyond the size of the openings <br />Openings shall be located vertically within the middle third of the height between the existing <br />openings above and below <br />Openings shall be located horizontally within the middle thirst of the width of theexrsting openings <br />above and below <br />The existing reinforcing in the wall panels shall be located and the new openings placed such that <br />the number of ban that will be cut during saw -cutting is minimized <br />Please call if you have any questions. <br />ZO'd 9911 281t, 90Z s..s00uf5u3 04ew1L, VV0:1T CO-CZ--adV <br />
