Included in the design are two items of construction which were not referenced in the original plan for development included with the District's checklist submitted in 1978. These items are: 1) A helicopte: pad adjacent to the east side of the office building. 2) A structural sreel microwave tower located about 30 feet west of the southwest corner of the office building. The helicopter pad is primarily intended for use in an emergency, though the PUD may infrequently contract for helicopter services in connection with its service functions. The microwave tower is required to provide the necessary communications for the District's service needs for the entire county -wide area. Presently, the PUD has an existing microwave system, which by reason of the low elevation of the Operations Center site, cannot be extended to the new facility without higher antennas.
