EVERETT 206-259-218SEATTLE1 September 27, 1983 Mr. Dennis Derickson Planning Director City of Everett City Hall Everett, Washington 98201 Dear Mr. Derickson: This letter is to formally request your waiver of the City of Everett's requirement that parking lots be paved in the case of our new wivehouse and office facility now under construction at Hardeson Road and 80th Street Southwest. The attached site plan shows the approximately two acre site with 171400 square feet of module building area and twenty-one parking spaces. Our original plan to pave the parking area has been changed because the large amount of earthwork necessary to level the site has ljft much of the parking area over unsettled fill. We would prefer to wait at least one season to allow this fill to settle before paving the area. In the interim we propose to cover the parking area (as well as the balance of the level portion of the site) with gravel. The sloped fill -rea above Hardeson Road will be hydroseeded in accordance with the City's erosion control requirements. The only persons likely to use the parking spaces on the :ite are Lord Electric employees. The nature of our business is such that the r9maining spaces, while we agree to provide them to meet the City's requirements, Lill probably not be used. In the absence of pavement, we propose to mark the parking spaces shown on the site plan with portable concrete curbs secured with driven rebar. We are confident that our request does not violate the spirit of the City's ordinances and regulations, and we urge your approval so that we may resume work at the site.
