, <br /> .. <br /> RESOLUTION 3637 EV/ERETT <br /> A Resolution concerning the City's relationship <br /> relative to Snohomish County Tomorrow <br /> WHEREAS, Snohomish County and the cities located therein have <br /> experienced substantial growth in the past decade, and this trend is <br /> expected to continue for the remainder of this decade; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 1989, Snohomish County Tomorrow was formed by the County <br /> and the cities located therein to coordinate planning to accommodate <br /> anticipated growth and mitigate or minimize harmful environmental <br /> consequences; and <br /> WHEREAS, the State Legislature passed the Growth Management Act (GMA) <br /> in 1990 which requires a process like Snohomish County Tomorrow to <br /> address planning for the County and the cities, (RCW 36 . 70A. 210) and <br /> Snohomish County Tomorrow will be addressing the issues mandated by <br /> the GMA; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett passed Resolution No. 3250 committing the <br /> City of Everett to be a part of Snohomish County Tomorrow; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Charter sets forth the relationships <br /> between the Council and the Mayor as those between the legislative and <br /> executive branches of City government. <br />
