In June of 2008,the City of Everett began construction by surcharging a portion of the landfill. <br /> In June 2009,the second phase of the surcharge project began. Bids for the third and final phase of the <br /> surcharge project were opened on May 18, 2010. There were eight bidders and the bids ranged from a low <br /> bid of$2,967,195.01 to a high of$4,647,217.56. The Engineers Estimate was $4,346,212.42. The low <br /> bidder is KLB Construction,Inc. We recommend that KLB Construction,Inc. be awarded the Construction <br /> Contract for the Everett Riverfront Surcharge Phase 3 project in the amount of$2,967,195.01. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Award the construction contract and authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with KLB Construction,Inc. for <br /> the Everett Riverfront Surcharge Phase 3 project in the amount of$2,967,195.01,including sales tax. <br /> 65 <br />
