3 <br /> GCA 6541 <br /> US 2, Everett Port / Naval Station to SR 9 <br /> Corridor Planning Study Funding <br /> THIS Agreement is made and entered into by and between the City of Everett, hereinafter the <br /> "CITY," and the Washington State Department of Transportation, hereinafter "WSDOT," either <br /> of which entity may be referred to hereinafter individually as "Party" or collectively as the <br /> "Parties." <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY and WSDOT have partnered together with other local agencies to <br /> conduct a transportation corridor study, hereinafter the "Study," on US 2 between the cities of <br /> Everett and Snohomish, hereinafter the "Corridor;" and <br /> WHEREAS, the goal of the Study is to examine safety and mobility issues along the Corridor <br /> and to develop recommendations to address the expected growth of the surrounding area; and <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY desires use of the Study results to plan transportation improvement <br /> strategies in response to the expected growth; and <br /> WHEREAS, WSDOT has the experience and expertise to provide professional services to the <br /> CITY toward the completion of the Study; and <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY is willing to partially fund those services provided by WSDOT. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to chapter 39.34 RCW, the above recitals that are incorporated <br /> herein as if set forth below, and in consideration of the terms, conditions, and performances set <br /> forth herein, as well as in the attached Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein and made a part <br /> hereof by this reference, the sufficiency of which consideration is hereby acknowledged, the <br /> Parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> 1. PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this Agreement is for WSDOT to provide professional engineering services, <br /> hereinafter the Work, to the CITY and to establish a method for WSDOT to invoice the CITY and <br /> be reimbursed for the costs associated with the performance of the Work. <br /> 2. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> WSDOT will perform the Work elements described in Exhibit A, Scope of Work. <br /> 4 <br />
