Due to increased customer demand for this program in 2010 (9%increase in team registrations), <br /> additional umpire services are required. The amendment will enable the Parks and Recreation Department to <br /> compensate the service provider an additional $1,000. The new"not to exceed" amount in the Amendment <br /> One to the Professional Services Agreement would be$63,000. <br /> The original"not to exceed"amount in the professional service agreement estimated a total of 247 <br /> participating teams. Due to an increased customer demand,this program experienced 265 total participating <br /> teams and therefore requires additional games and umpire services. Revenue for the 2010 Softball League <br /> program is estimated to be $212,000. The original 2010 revenue budget estimate for the softball program <br /> was $180,000. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment One to the Professional Services Agreement with the Washington <br /> State Umpires Association(dba United States Specialty Sports Association)for the additional amount of <br /> $1,000. <br /> 15 <br />
