16 <br /> PROJECT: Water Filtration Facility — <br /> Lake Chaplain Recovered Water Outfall Improvements Project <br /> WO# UP-3347 <br /> WORK CHANGE DIRECTIVE - No 04 <br /> DATE OF ISSUANCE August 28, 2010 <br /> You are directed to proceed promptly with the following change (s): <br /> Description: Revise the City of Everett Lake Chaplain Reservoir Equipment Decontamination Policy <br /> located at the end of Section 01580 per the following: 1) Pages 4&5- Require decontamination of <br /> any and all used equipment (equipment that has been in other bodies of water including fakes, rivers, <br /> reservoirs etc.) 2) Page 4 Decontamination - Decontamination shall consist of hot water pressure <br /> washing, ten (10) minute contact with a quaternary amine cleaning/disinfectant followed by a rinse <br /> and then drying for the 72 hour desiccation period. 3)Allowable quaternary amine <br /> cleaning/disinfectant cleaners include: A)4.6% Quat 128 at 6.4 oz. per gallon, B) 3.1% Sparquat 256 <br /> at 4.3 oz. per gallon of water, C) 1 part Formula 409 to one part of water. 4)Contact must include <br /> running the disinfectant through cooling systems on outboard motors and the bilge of barges. 5) <br /> Neither the disinfectant nor the rinse water from the disinfectant shall be allowed to flow directly or <br /> indirectly through drainage systems into Lake Chaplain or Chaplain Creek or its tributaries. 6) <br /> Following the rinse equipment must be allowed to dry and be kept dry for a 72 hour desiccation time. <br /> 7)The City will try to provide a covered space to allow drying during inclement weather.
