The
objective of this will be to evaluate soil and ground water conditions that impact the design
and construction of the new bridge structure. The geotechnical engineering effort will
include the following activities:
A. Project Management
HWA will manage the geotechnical engineering work and the work of its subcontractors.
HWA will correspond with the TranTech team by email and telephone as required to
complete its work scope and support the team. HWA will provide monthly progress reports
if requested,with each monthly invoice.
B. Review Existing Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Information
HWA will collect and review existing geotechnical data in the project area. This will include
available boring logs, geologic maps, and foundation plans for nearby structures. HWA will
review files with the City of Everett, BNSF, available online databases, and HWA's
geotechnical library. The information collected will then be considered in development of
the geotechnical engineering investigation.
HWA will also collect and evaluate available site characterization data within and adjacent to
the bridge alignment. This includes a database report of federal, state, and local regulatory
agency databases and information on chemical and hazardous wastes which may have been
stored or generated in the site vicinity.
