ii. Kasch Park (Bomarc) Bog, <br />iii. Simpson site, Category I wetlands, <br />iv. Narbeck Swamp, <br />v. Jetty Island <br />A. Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas Designation. All areas meeting the <br />definition of Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas above are designated as Fish <br />and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas, and are subject to the regulations in Sections 15 - <br />19 (37.150 - 37.190) of this chapter, except that developments in shoreline jurisdiction are <br />subject to the requirements in the Shoreline Master Program. <br />B. Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas Mapping. The approximate location and <br />extent of fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas within the City of Everett's planning <br />area are shown on maps compiled and maintained by the City Planning and Community <br />Development Department. These maps shall be used as a general guide only for the <br />assistance of property owners, project applicants, and other interested parties; boundaries <br />are generalized. The actual type, extent and boundaries of fish and wildlife habitat <br />conservation areas shall be determined by a qualified scientific professional according to <br />the procedures, definitions and criteria established by this chapter. In the event of any <br />conflict between the habitat location or type shown on the city's fish and wildlife habitat <br />conservation areas maps and the criteria or standards of this chapter, the criteria and <br />standards resulting from the field investigation shall control. <br />Other mapping sources include <br />• Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Priority Habitat and Species maps. <br />• Washington State Department of Natural Resources Natural Heritage Program <br />mapping data. <br />• Anadromous and resident salmonid distribution maps contained in the Habitat Limiting <br />factors reports published by the Washington Conservation Commission. <br />• Washington State Department of Natural Resources State Natural Area Preserves and <br />Natural Resources Conservation Area Maps. <br />(This section shall be codified as EMC 19.37.140.) <br />Section 15: Lakes, ponds, and created ponds. <br />A. Lakes. Lakes which are 20 acres or more shall be protected as required by the Shoreline <br />Master Program. Lakes and ponds which are less than 20 acres in size and are not subject <br />to the shoreline master program shall be subject to the regulations in this section. <br />B. Buffers. Lakes and ponds have the following buffers of native vegetation: <br />1. Lakes and ponds used by salmonids - 100 feet <br />2. Lakes and ponds with no salmonid use - 50 feet <br />If a wetland or stream occurs along the fringe of the pond or lake, the buffer shall be the <br />greater of that required for the pond or lake or for the wetland or stream. <br />35 <br />
