"Compensation" means the replacement, enhancement, or creation of an undevelopable <br />environmentally sensitive area equivalent in functions, values and size to those being <br />altered or lost to development. <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Compensation" means the replacement, enhancement, or creation of an undevelopable <br />critical area equivalent in functions, values and size to those being altered or lost to <br />development. <br />Section 32: Definition. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1847-92, as amended, (EMC 19.4.020) is <br />amended by the addition of the following: <br />"Culvert" means a short section of pipe placed in a stream and filled over in order to <br />provide a stream crossing. <br />Section 33: Definition. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1847-92, as amended, (EMC 19.4.020), <br />definition of "Development" which currently reads as follows: <br />"Development" means all structures, uses or other modifications of the natural landscape <br />occurring above or below ground or water on a particular lot. <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Development" means all structures, uses or other alterations or modifications of the <br />natural landscape occurring above or below ground or water on a particular lot. <br />Section 34: Definition. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1847-92, as amended, (EMC 19.4.020), <br />definition of "Environmentally sensitive area" which currently reads as follows: <br />"Environmentally sensitive area" means any of those areas of the city which are subject <br />to natural hazards or those landform features which carry, hold, or purify water and/or <br />support unique, fragile or valuable natural resources including fish, wildlife, and other <br />organisms and their habitat. Sensitive areas include the following features: geologically <br />hazardous areas; wetlands; streams; flood hazard areas; fish and wildlife conservation <br />areas, and groundwater discharge areas. <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Critical area" means geologically hazardous areas, wetlands, lakes, ponds, streams, <br />frequently flooded (flood hazard) areas, and fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas, <br />as defined in RCW 36.70 A, and this chapter. <br />.1 <br />
