EVE/RETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO". 1921-93 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the For-Hire Vehicle Licensing <br /> Regulations, Section 15 of Ordinance No. 1400-87, <br /> EMC 5. 68 . 170. <br /> SECTION 1: Section 15 of Ordinance No. 1400-87 (EMC 5 . 68 . 170) <br /> which reads as follows: <br /> Driver's License - Application investigation - Issuance <br /> or nonissuance. <br /> A. The chief of police shall review the application <br /> for a for-hire vehicle driver's license and determine <br /> whether the applicant meets the requirements of this <br /> chapter. If the chief of police determines that the <br /> for-hire vehicle driver's license should be issued or <br /> renewed, a license may thereupon be issued to the <br /> applicant which shall be in such form as to contain the <br /> photograph and signature of the licensee. For-hire <br /> vehicles driver's licenses shall expire on August 31st <br /> of each year. If the chief of police determines that a <br /> for-hire vehicle driver's license should not be issued <br /> or renewed, the city clerk thereof shall be notified <br /> setting forth the reasons for such rejection. <br /> B. A license will be denied to any person if the city <br /> clerk finds that the applicant has: <br /> 1. Made any false statement in his/her <br /> application; <br /> 2 . Had a conviction or bail forfeiture in <br /> accordance with those identified in Section 13 (A) (5) of <br /> this ordinance; <br /> 3 . Been found to have exhibited past conduct in <br /> driving or operating a for-hire vehicle which would <br /> lead the chief of police to reasonably conclude that <br /> the applicant will not comply with the provisions of <br /> this chapter related to driver/operator conduct or the <br /> safe operation of the vehicle; <br /> 4 . Been found to have exhibited a past driving <br /> record which would lead the chief of police to <br /> reasonably conclude that the applicant would not <br /> operate the for-hire vehicle in a safe manner; or <br />
