Develop tourism image library: Continue staging photo shoots to create a variety of <br /> high resolution images suitable for media relations, advertising, and marketing collateral <br /> material. <br /> COMMUNITY RELATIONS/GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS <br /> Goals: To build relationships with city elected officials and staff, ensuring shared understanding <br /> and support of the goals and missions of each. Work with local law enforcement and the industry <br /> to ensure the security of visitors. <br /> To accomplish these goals, the SCTB will undertake the following during the 2011 contract year: <br /> 1. Keep City Council up-to-date: Regularly report to city council on tourism trends, new <br /> developments and activities and accomplishments of the Everett tourism marketing <br /> program. Contact council members throughout the year. <br /> 2. Participate in Economic Development Planning: Participate in various city economic <br /> development-planning efforts and provide input on tourism issues. <br /> 3. Build Coalitions and Partnerships: Build coalitions and partnerships with city Chamber <br /> of Commerce, Port of Everett and other government agencies, and the Navy on special <br /> projects and topics. Emphasis will be on the private sector tourism related businesses. <br /> 4. Apply for the Port of Everett Economic Development and Tourism Promotion grant <br /> (if available)for additional support in marketing waterfront amenities. <br /> MEDIA RELATIONS <br /> Goals: Increase awareness of Everett as a visitor destination; increase quiet season traffic; <br /> promote soft adventure(kayaking, river rafting, hiking, etc.), art, historic and cultural <br /> opportunities. Develop and implement a strategic media relations program including development <br /> of a media newsletter. <br /> Media relations Audience: <br /> Audience#1 - Close-in market, Washington and Oregon writers and editors <br /> Audience#2 -Vancouver and other British Columbia writers and editors <br /> Audience#3 - California writers and editors <br /> Audience#4 - Editors of publications in which the City of Everett advertises <br /> To accomplish these goals, the SCTB will undertake the following activities on behalf of the <br /> Everett program during the contract year: <br /> Snohomish County Tourism Bureau 3 <br /> 2011 Everett Tourism Marketing and Visitor Services Plan <br />
