M <br /> Ii r <br /> III �9,I1ii i <br /> i <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION <br /> SUBJECT: The Boeing Company <br /> High Bay Factory Building <br /> CODE SECTION: 713.10 (1994 State Building Code) requires smoke dampers at duct <br /> penetrations in vertical duct shaft. <br /> PROPOSAL: Substitute an engineered smoke control system for the required <br /> smoke dampers. Smoke in either the supply or return duct work <br /> will cause the supply fan and all of the fan powered VAV boxes, <br /> associated with the supply fan, to stop. The return fan dampers <br /> will go to the exhaust position and the return fan will go to full <br /> speed. <br /> ACTION: Acceptance <br /> FINDINGS: Meets the intent of the code by providing means to limit smoke <br /> migration to non fire areas. <br /> Provides possibility of increased safety by exhausting smoke. <br /> Building Official <br /> �Z <br />
