Amendment No. 1 removes several of the original agencies from the agreement. Snohomish County, Mount Vernon and Lynnwood now conduct their own training within their police agencies. Sultan and Granite Falls now contract with Snohomish County for their police services, and receive their in-service training through the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. The amendment also increases the fees collected from each agency to help pay the costs of conducting the training. The fee increase helps pay for facility use, instructor fees and other costs associated with conducting the state mandated police training for the participating agencies. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 1 to Interlocal Government Agreement with Snohomish County and Cities Located Within Snohomish, King and Skagit Counties for In-Service Training. 37
