Exhibit D of the Ordinance contains Development Standards and Guidelines for development of the Colby Campus. Section 13 of Exhibit D contains the standards and guidelines for signs. PRMCE is proposing to install logo wall signs of 131 square feet each on the upper portion of the north, east and south facades of the new hospital tower building. In order to do so, they have proposed amendments to the sign standards and guidelines. The existing standards and guidelines require: • Sign Category C, which allows wall signs to have a maximum sign area of 60 square feet per façade; and • Signs shall be oriented to pedestrians PRMCE has proposed amendments to the sign standards and guidelines that would allow for the proposed logo wall signs. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed amendment on April 19, 2011. After taking public testimony and making further changes to the proposed amendments to the Standards and Guidelines, the Commission has recommended that the City Council approve the amendments as contained in Section 1 of the attached Ordinance.
